tonight i watched two episodes of bad girls club, this week's rupaul's drag race, finished an episode of channel 4's embarrassing bodies, and watched a documentary on virgins.

hellokitty episode
watching this week's episode of rupaul's drag race last night made me feel angry and restless for hours and i had to go to bed early. i rarely disagree with ru's eliminations but this time i felt the fire.

my life in seasons
i recently had my first experience of having someone i was previously involved with get married to someone else. it's not a relationship i pine for but it's a really unsettling feeling, even when you haven't responded to his e-mails in literally years but only out of anxiety.
lately i've been thinking about my life in seasons of game of thrones. first season, i was dating bagel who wanted to watch the show because he had seen people talking about it on reddit. i spent most of the episodes too drunk to understand what was going on, but enjoyed it nonetheless. second season, bagel abandoned ship and i continued watching the show on my own. my housemate in mid-city, chlom, always referred to the show as bone of thrones. third season i watched in bushwick at aijia's apartment, where we'd cuddle griffin and drink wine and watch the show while perched on craggs' bed and attempted to avoid drunkenly splashing the wine all over the sheets. aijia had read most of the books and was always able to explain wtf was going on. by season four we'd moved in together and watched it in our apartment huddled on the living room couch on willoughby, boozing and waiting for the new episode which had just aired to be uploaded for the pleasure of pirates everywhere. during the show we'd pause the show every few moments to discuss wtf was going on. fifth season is the first season in two years that i'm watching without her, where i'm in florida gchatting to ask if she's watched the episode yet, and i've watched the first two episodes thus far with my housemate/little bro figure kev, who sometimes talks during the episode but i forgive him.

A treatise On how coincidences on coincidences build on coincidences
I was supposed to go to Typhoon Lagoon, one of the water parks, today, but I was feeling kind of sick again and spent most of the day drinking a frappuccino in the sun at Starbucks and then sitting on the floor of my living room watching Millionaire Matchmaker and Kendra on Top. My roommate, Sinay, was at Clearwater Beach most of the day and while today Mrs. Tuckersman was telling me about how it is fall turning winter over in New York, here in Florida my roommate came home sunburned and looking like a cooked lobster.
In the evening we spontaneously decided that we really needed dessert and, more specifically, chocolate. We decided to go to Epcot in search of chocolate and we wandered the World Showcase (Jefferson Starship was playing again, 'We Built This City') until we settled on Italy and Sinay would have a gelato cookie sandwich and I would have tiramisu. Our decisions had been made and we were getting in line when I decided that I wanted to find a bathroom, but the closest was over at the American Pavilion. Once we were there, Italy felt much too far away and carrot cake at the American Pavilion became an acceptable option. We got in line and at the register the cashier girl looked at my roommate said, 'You go to Miami!' and apparently Sinay had been an RA in her college housing back in Ohio. We took our carrot cakes to some nearby picnic tables and I looked at a table of people sitting and realized that one of them was Patrick, my parade trainer in Tomorrowland in 2006. I had literally found out via our dominant social network yesterday that he is now living in Orlando and here I'd spotted him sitting at a picnic table in the dark, over 2,500 miles away from where I'd last seen him. I was explaining to his friends that 8 years ago Patrick had taught an 18-year-old me how to work on the parade route at Disneyland when I realized that one of his friends was an Imagineer I'd had lunch with a few weeks prior, whom I'd sat next to and had pizza with as part of a work function, with whom midway through our conversation we had realized that I actually know his younger brother because we both worked in Shanghai at the Expo in 2010 together. I hate to say it but it is a small world _____ ___.

I'm watching the final world cup game of Argentina v. Germany at a bar in Williamsburg right now and I think I could hands down win the award for lowest blood pressure in the room.

night off
I had a really really good presentation of my thesis tonight for someone from NYU engineering and an artist from Eyebeam (!) and decided to celebrate by watching Game of Thrones and taking the night off. Except now that the episode is over, I truly have no idea what to do with my time. I have been literally rolling around on my floor.

alex mack
During the show's heyday, children who met Larisa Oleynik (and were too young to understand special effects) would often ask her to "morph" for them. Rather than try to explain things, she would quickly glance around, then tell them "Not here - everybody would see!".
chocolate rink
Mrs. Tuckersman and I did not end up going ice skating yesterday. We had sushi at Osaka and then went and ate chocolate cake and drank hot chocolates with espresso ('torinos') instead. And then we went and watched reality tv ('World's Fattest Man' and 'Prison Wives') and ordered Thai delivery instead. and then we went to a mostly-puppet variety show in Williamsburg. Great day.

cinderella
Today was dedicated to brewing hot coffee, hanging clothes, performing feats of sweat-runs-down-your-legs yoga, boxing my online shopping returns, blowing an unreasonable sum online shopping for more things, eating leftovers and watching Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bliss, making mediocre Thai curry with sauce out of a bag, e-mailing with Katya, drinking iced coffee and laughing with Aijia at Swallow, getting caught in a full-sun rain storm and getting soaked and screaming through the streets, scrubbing the shower free of its multi-colored molds, washing dishes, watering plants, caring for Leonardo da Fishy, stitching broken things, meticulously picking air fuzz out of my air conditioner filter, not drinking, myopically staring at my computer screen, and conversating with the Bagel for our telephone hour which apparently lasted two hours but blew by when time snuck away from us. Chatting on the phone while kicking around on my bed always makes me feel like Gidget. Tomorrow: hopefully more intellectual endeavors and band practice with Mrs. Tuckersman.
