ladies and snow

last loom

My 30-day pass for my current yoga studio expired today so I went in at 10am to savor my last class (unless I become a big spender?). Yoga Goddess was not there this morning, unfortunately, but one highlight was that instead of my usual supported headstand, I did my first forearm stand ever (albeit for only a few seconds). I will keep working on this at home and probably leave my footprints all over the walls. On my walk home, it was snowing so hard I felt like I was in a snowglobe.

sick sad world

sigh. i accidentally just poured juice into my mug of coffee.

here's my dumb horoscope. i don't even know what it means:
Try not to worry too much about the big picture or anything that has gone before — you need to focus on the details of your future plans. You can make great progress without leaving your seat.

dream lana

last night i dreamt that I met Lana del Rey at a friend's fancy socialite party and we became friends because she was planning on applying to ITP. i commiserated with her on how her second album's sales weren't doing as well as the first's and she told me that she hadn't been feeling as creative lately.

I won't be able to be a part of the NYU Chorale this semester because I have a class at the same time as rehearsal. Sad sad sad. Here are the recordings from the fall concert last November:

woodland rug

Does anyone have $2,200 - $12,000 so I can buy this ultra-dreamy rug and lie on it all day?

tsukumogami

Tsukumogami are animate household objects. An otogizōshi (“companion tale”) titled Tsukumogami ki (“Record of tool kami”; Muromachi period) explains that after a service life of nearly one hundred years, utsuwamono or kibutsu (containers, tools, and instruments) receive souls.

i get this

[–]narwhal0   ago
Since I was a child, I have from time to time experienced a random and overwhelming feeling of homesickness that lasts a few minutes... even when I am at home and with family. I don't know what causes it. It isn't exactly homesickness, but this deep (though brief) gut-felt feeling that nothing is right, almost like reality itself isn't right.

outside

The sky is really just vomiting snow right now. I don't know why we don't maintain our December love of comfort, reds, wooly things, tinkly jingly sounds, and duraflame through the early year's winter months because without them to hearten the inside the outside seems bleak and apocalyptic.
